Only left in stock

The Book Note 360° notebook by Watanabe Bookbinding in Tokyo is described as "a sturdy, easy to open notebook with traditional bookbinding". The B6 size is easy to carry with you and the key feature is how it folds: it can lie flat on a surface to allow for the full page to be written on, or it can be folded 360° back-to-back, if you want to write while holding in your hand.

We stock two colour covers: Denim Blue (squared) and Forest Green (blank)

  • Size: B6 (182mm x 128mm)
  • Lines: 5mm square grid lines OR blank
  • Cover: Linen Cloth
  • Pages: 190 pages
  • Paper: OK Fools
  • Weight: 225g

The notebooks are made using the "thread sewn" binding method, where a hole is punched in the spine of the book and the book is bound as if it were sewn with thread. This means that even if folding it numerous times, the paper does not fall out. This binding method has been in use for more than 1,000 years.

---------------------

Now in its third generation, Watanabe Bookbinding was established after WWII in 1946 when the first generation Yoshikichi Watanabe, who had worked in the bookbindery industry since a young age, was supported to open a business by a customer. The company flourished and to this day some of the original tools and equipment used at the time is still in use. Watanabe Bookbinding specialises in the daily production of academic books, museum catalogues and premium notebooks, all of which require a high degree of precision in bookbinding.
