The Green Glass Brew Tea range of drip teas allows you to prepare an instant refreshing cup of tea wherever you are. The tea is packed in a paper origami-style drip tea sachet, which gets placed over a cup or container and water poured over.

How to prepare:

  • Open the outside sachet and remove the origami tea bag.
  • Tear it open at the top, pull the ears and hook it over a cup or container.
  • Pour 200ml of cold water directly into the tea bag and let it drip until all water has passed through.
  • Discard or compost the tea bag and enjoy your green tea!

Note on recommended volume of water: You can adjust the volume of water to your liking. The sencha is very flavourful with a vivid green colour from some added matcha, and it is possible to increase the water volume and enjoy two cups of delicious and refreshing tea from one bag.

------------------------------

Sencha is the most popular drinking tea in Japan and is drunk by millions of people on a daily basis. It is made from the Camellia sinensis plant and steamed to retain freshness and colour. Sencha has many regional variations and come in different formats - from loose leaf to tea bag to drip tea.

Matcha is finely powdered green tea, which is mixed into water or milk, as opposed to sencha, which is steeped and served without the leaves. Matcha requires careful cultivation and preparation techniques, including shade growing, hand picking, de-stemming and de-veining of the leaf, as well as fine grinding. When matcha is added to sencha, it enhances the colour and taste.

Yamashiro Bussan was founded in 1960, where it produces high-quality tea at its factory in Wazuka Town, a famous production area of Uji tea in the Yamashiro region. As a relative newcomer to the long-established tea industry in the region, founder Shigeyuki Tsuji strived for innovation in tea production, blending and packaging. The company sources a variety of tea types from different regions of Japan and continue to introduce new and innovative ways to blend and prepare tea.

The current CEO, Shizuyo Okamoto, stresses the importance of maintaining tea making habits as a welcoming way to host friends and family, and to create relaxing and comfortable moments with tea. In her words: "we would like to convey the joy of tea in a flexible way that suits the times and protects a rich life with tea."
