Wood Smoothing Plane (48mm)

The KAKURI Smoothing Plane is 60mm wide by 210mm long with a 48mm wide blade. It is used for medium sized smoothing and trimming. It cuts on the pull stroke. A high speed steel blade hardened to HRC 63 ensures a sturdy and sharp cutting edge, and it includes a chip breaker which keeps the blade in place through compression. The blade is adjusted using a wooden mallet. The wooden body of the plane is made of Japanese White Oak.

The blade can be sharpened or replacements blades can be bought separately.
