Hasegawa Pro-Soft Cutting Board

HASEGAWA CORPORATION

+

Only left in stock

The Hasegawa FSR Series Pro-Soft Cutting Board is ideal for Japanese knives. The soft surface cushions and absorbs the blows of your knife, thus preserving your blade’s sharpness (unlike typical synthetic boards).

  • Dimensions: 600mm (L) x 300mm (W) x 20mm (H)
  • Colour: Beige
  • Weight: 2.4kg

It is recommended for delicate cuttings, like sushi and sashimi and popular in professional sushi restaurants. The inner wood core structure has the following characteristics:

  • The wood core makes it 30-50% lighter than other solid plastic cutting boards. Handling the cutting boards becomes much easier, leading to better hygiene and maintenance. Also, the risk of injury is lower if you drop it.
  • It does not easily warp or bend under long-term use or high-temp washing. It is always stable and dish-washer safe up to temperatures of 90 degrees Celsius.
  • The soft materials applied to the surfaces make it very blade-friendly, which helps maintain a sharp blade on knives. Also, the grippy surface prevent ingredients from moving when cutting, suitable for delicate cuts!
  • The wood core is sterilized and covered completely. It provides stability, while not being exposed if the board is handled correctly.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Wash the cutting board frequently, especially when raw foods are cut on it.
  • Wash with warm water and soap, either by hand, or in a dishwasher with a water temperature setting of less than 90 degrees Celsius.
  • In general, plastics absorb oil after prolonged contact. This tendency increases with increase in temperature. If possible, use thick kitchen paper when cutting hot, oily food on the board.
  • If used in a restaurant setting, it is recommended to wash the Cutting Board thoroughly with detergent once every 2 hours.
  • Dirt can be easily noticeable on the Soft Cutting Board, but it is also easy to remove with bleach. Correct application with bleach on a regular basis
    will ensure clean condition for longer periods.
  • Regular maintenance of the cutting board using a Hasegawa board scraper is ideal to maintain its condition.
  • Stop using the board when the wooden core is exposed.
  • When working on any cutting board, try and pull the blade in the same direction when slicing.

Hasegawa Corporation was founded in Chiba prefecture in 1955 as a ski materials manufacturer. Since skis have a wooden core sandwiched between plastic sheets which should never separate, to prevent injury, the company focused its research and development on 'adhesive lamination technology'. Through years of research, in-house knowledge and continuous improvement, Hasegawa Corporation has ensured it makes cutting boards that cannot be easily imitated.

The company philosophy is based on three pillars:

  • Developing and building on new technologies;
  • Ensuring the safety and security of all its products for everyday use;
  • Contributing to the food service industry through R&D.
