Sencha Green Tea (Morning Blend)
Sencha green tea from Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan. The morning blend is a refreshing blend of sencha from the Abe River basin and sencha and bud tea from Tenryu City. It offers a good balance of astringency and sweetness with a subtle and fragrant aroma. It is ideal for a refreshing start to your day.

HOW TO PREPARE SENCHA:
Loose leaf tea
- Add 1 teaspoon (approximately 5g) of tea leaves into a teapot
- Pour about 130ml of hot water (70-90 °C) into the teapot (Use water that have been filtered with Kishu binchotan, or if tap water was used, let it boil for more than 5 minutes or more for better flavour)
- Cover the teapot and wait for 60 seconds
- Pour the tea into a tea cup and enjoy.
When it is brewed at low temperature, you can enjoy an added umami taste and when brewed at high temperate the aroma is stronger. It is possible to make a second brew, by brewing the same tea leaves at a higher temperature for 90 - 120 seconds.
Tea bag
- Place 1 tea bag in a an empty tea cup
- Pour about 130ml of hot water (70-90 °C) into the cup (Use water that have been filtered with Kishu binchotan, or if tap water was used, let it boil for more than 5 minutes or more for better flavour)
- Wait 60 seconds for the tea to steep
- Remove the tea bag after gently lifting it up and own a few times. It is fine to gently press it with a spoon before taking out.
- Enjoy your cup of tea.

Chaya Suzuwa was established in 1848 in Shizuoka, the capital of one of the main tea producing regions of Japan. The "Tea of Time" range featuring a morning, afternoon and evening blend of green tea won a gold medal in 2018 at the World Green Tea contest. The criteria included tea quality and taste, concept and packaging design.
