Only left in stock

The "Tea of Time" series won a gold medal at the 2018 World Green Tea contest for tea quality and taste, concept and packaging design. It includes three blends of tea for everyday drinking:

  1. Morning Blend - A refreshing blend of sencha from the Abe River basin and sencha and bud tea from Tenryu City. It offers a good balance of astringency and sweetness with a subtle and fragrant aroma. It is ideal for a refreshing start to your day.
  2. Afternoon Blend - A blend to compliment snack time, whether mid-morning or afternoon. Makinohara deep steamed tea is used to create a dark green blend when brewed. The taste is less astringent, rich and soft. It is a tea blend perfectly suited for tea time and sweet snacks as an accompaniment.
  3. Evening Blend - Perfect for enjoying a relaxing cup of tea at the end of the day. The tea leaves used are Makinohara and Tenryu stem tea. Roasted tea has a low caffeine content and is recommended before going to bed. It has a mellow, gentle scent and subtle aroma.

The set of three teas is available as loose leaf tea (2 x 50g and 1 x 30g) in two packaging options:

  • 3 x tea tins (68mm diameter x 102mm height)
  • 3 x refill pouches

HOW TO PREPARE "TEA OF TIME" TEAS:

    Morning and Afternoon Blend

    1. Add 1 teaspoon (approximately 5g) of tea leaves into a teapot
    2. Pour about 130ml of  hot water (70-90 °C) into the teapot (Use water that have been filtered with Kishu binchotan, or if tap water was used, let it boil for more than 5 minutes or more for better flavour)
    3. Cover the teapot and wait for 60 seconds
    4. Pour the tea into a tea cup and enjoy.

     Evening Blend

    1. Add 1 heaped teaspoon (approximately 8g) of tea leaves into a teapot
    2. Pour about 150ml of  boiling water (100 °C) into the teapot (Use water that has been filtered with Kishu binchotan, or if using tap water, let it boil for 5 minutes or more for better flavour)
    3. Cover the teapot and wait for 30 seconds
    4. Pour the tea into a tea cup and enjoy.

When the teas are brewed at low temperature, you can enjoy an added umami taste and when brewed at high temperate the aroma is stronger. It is possible to make a second brew, by brewing the same tea leaves at a higher temperature for 90 - 120 seconds.
